BLS Provider ( Health Care Provider)
SKU: HCP Hours: 4
Basic Life Support (BLS) participants are trained to recognize life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver ventilations and provide early use of an AED.
This video-based, Instructor-led course features science from the 2015 Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC, including single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for in-facility and prehospital settings, with a focus on high-quality CPR and team dynamics.
BLS is designed for; healthcare providers and trained first responders providing care to patients in pre-hospital or in-facility settings; and those who require BLS certification to enter a healthcare-related training program.
This course is for the professional healthcare provider (HCP providing care in a clinical setting using adjunct equipment). The content of this program is the same as our CPR-C course with the addition of incorporating resuscitation equipment, specifically the BVM (bag-valve-mask). There are also slight changes in CPR modalities common to the clinical setting.
Healthcare providers who do not perform CPR with adjunct equipment on a regular basis should take our regular Heartsaver CPR-C program. On successful completion of this course students will receive a certificate in CPR-C “HCP”, from Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario based upon the medical guidelines set by International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR)
